Saturday night, I drank wine, eat cheese and wheat, and stayed up til 2 a.m. I woke up Sunday morning looking and feeling like this guy:
Needless to say, I spent the bulk of the day trying to hydrate again, in between naps. Let me tell you, there ain’t no hangover like a cheese and wheat hangover. Yikes.
When I do go off the diet, I think I’m going to have to be really careful about how I reintroduce off-diet foods. For instance, probably I won’t introduce them with wine. Also, I’m thinking that I might try incorporating first either wheat or dairy, and then add the other one a few days later, to see if I have food sensitivities.
In general, I’m planning to eat a LOT less of the off-plan foods, even when I’m done with the diet. How about you guys? Do you have plans for how you’re going to go off the diet?

I am exactly the same day as you…and today went out for Mothers Day and had a cheeseburger on an onion bun..IT WAS A GOURMET BURGER, HOWEVER!!!!..tried to be on diet all weekend, we were out of town and ate at restaurants…and am worried about the scale tomorrow morning….so far, as of last friday, only 7 lbs down…am anxious for this next week…already thinking about adding another 7 days.
Just remember to not beat yourself up about any thing you eat off plan. The stress is way worse!!! I have completed my 28 days as of now. Tomorrow will be my last weigh in. I do not want to see a scale, turkey meat, or nut butter for a very long time!!!!! I had mushrooms with my filet tonight for dinner. I think it had butter. My insides are in a knot. I am so nervous about real life tomorrow. I think I will stick to diet stuff for one more day, and ease into real food. Very nervous!!!! Down 15lbs as of this morning. Good luck to you Jennie and all my fast friends. Keep up all your hard work. I will check on you soon!!
Andrea – congrats on the 15lb loss. Excellent.
Hey there!
So… I finished 26 days, dropped 15 pounds and was really pleased with how good I felt on the plan.
Then… I thought it would be a good plan to take a 2 day break (yay Mother’s Day!) and enjoy myself a bit. Food wise, I ate less than I was on the plan…. but the red wine, latte, mimosas at breakfast….. What a let down! It was great to enjoy at the time but I couldn’t believe how awful I felt the next day. Nor could I sleep all weekend. And I went up 3 pounds. Rage….
I had already planned on doing another cycle… I still have a good chunk of weight to lose and summer coming is really motivating me… so today starts Day 1 again. (Small nuisance… I had to reset the app and now have to plan every day out again.) My plan is to be perfect this time round (I had some small hiccups last round!) and really reap the benefits (hopefully).
But I have a fear… can we go back to eating like a “normal” person after this? I wasn’t THAT bad this weekend … I even went for a long run! I think returning to normal after this will take a careful examination of what and how I am eating and how I got myself into this mess in the first place.
Alright… back to planning another round!
Day 15 for me today. Just weighed myself…2 pound gain after a Mother’s Day BBQ yesterday. I was spot on all day knowing I would indulge slightly for dinner. I am very concerned that when the 28 days is up, one slight change to my meal plan, such as wheat bread rather than Ezekiel bread, will result in my gaining back any weight I lose. I also plan to stick with a lot of the meal plans/ foods that are on FMD, but I don’t want to feel like I do now if I eat slightly off the plan. So frustrating.
