It’s happened already. I have become one of those New Yorkers who never, ever leaves her neighborhood.
This morning I have a doctor’s appointment on 34th street. (I have to go get my eyes examined. My head, I will save for a separate visit.) 34th street, mind you, is really no all that far from my home, which is in the LES. However, I never, ever go up there. It’s a good thing the city is on a grid and all.

I feel the same way… being a commuter who comes into the city to work and then SPLITS… if it ain’t between NYU and Penn Station… I’ve never been there.

I love almost every neighborhood in NYC.
Greetings from someone who lives in that area. I can indeed confirm that East 34th st. was once part of the Soviet Union and is still filled with communists and other fellow travelers.
On weekends, we still get together at Starbucks and discuss the failures of the capitalist system over decaf Frappuccinos® and marble loaves.

When I moved to Chicago I found my apartment through a service. My criteria for a place:
1. Had to allow cats.
2. Had to have a dining room big enough for my dining room table.
3. Had to be within walking distance of Tai’s Til 4.
I’ve lived here for 7 months now, but even now, if I can’t see something from Tai’s, I don’t know where it is.
